Warmachine: Tactics

Warmachine: Tactics

Postby jlong05 » Mon Jul 29, 2013 2:05 am

Didn't see anything on the site, so I wanted to make you all aware. For those of you that play, or are interested in Warmachine, Privateer Press has a Kickstarter for their video game called Warmachine: Tactics. The game play will be turn based and appears to be following the same flow and rules that tabletop uses. Here is a link for the Kickstarter.

I think its a great deal for just the game, but they also have several add-ons for special characters that will be exclusives to the Kickstarter. They look really nice!

Kind of surprised there has been 42 views and not a single comment on this. Anyways, they have opened up co-op mode and the single player onslaught mode as well as the single player campaign pack. Next on the list is Mercenaries as a playable faction using Magnus the Traitor and then after that is Ret as a playable faction, spectator mode(which is make this viable for an esports game) and Ahlynn and her group as additional Mercs.

Only 40 hours to go so we are in the final days.

Did anyone else jump in on this? If so, what level did you buy?

I did the $65 level as that gave me the complete game, all perks, and Beta Access, but no physical figures. I am really wanting to up my pledge though for the Merc warcaster excelusive as he would be awesome to add to my merc group.

I pointed out to a few people the difference between your humble making us aware vs the relentless wave of a deliberate mantic push and whilst not a backer I am grateful for that difference.
I like the concept we definitely live in an age where PC gaming can deliver all those gaps tabletops sometimes have, and indeed have budgets greater than many films.
For me-I particularly love the inclusion of a non realtime multiplayer (drop box/chess by mail system)the idea this could be a PM through the working day game makes me quite excited.. it could be played through a forum front end etc etc

But I still hold kickstarters at arms length.. and I haven't completed bioshock or borderlands 1+2,torchlight2, legend of grimrock, nox, warlock, unmechanical, planescape, civ4/civ5,evil genius,4 lego games,dow2(and i guess space marine although it wasn't my cup of tea)10-12 others (not counting a stack of kinnect games my kids want achievements unlocked in).. so buying now rather than in a year or two off steam doesn't make sense for me... but I wish it well.
Barely even lurking..

I jumped onto a kickstarter project last year (or so) for a game called zombicide.

My kids love playing it with their friends, all the survivors are on one side battling against the zombies who have automatic moves and rules.

The kickstarter program seems pretty good, but I can't afford to jump into every game system the present.

But keep the warmachine posts coming jlong, might generate some interest in this game.

I have Zombicide also. Kids love it. My wife can't play it cause she gets panic attacks from the game. We took it camping a month back and played with another family and had a blast. ohhh so many zombies on the board.....
