Some amazing looking models here: http://arena-deathmatch.com/onlineshop/onlineshop.php
Has anyone seen these "in the flesh" and are they really that good?

They are great models. A little expensive, but for an indy supplier they are really well cast. Never looked at the ruleset they created for them but Pete at our club has a couple of their models. The chaos dwarf is cracking. I'm after the marauder champion for my chaos army - really nice model. I've already got the beastman hero - he's fantastic - a really chunky model too.

All of the newer models coming out tend to have multiple heads / arm options in the box so allow for some variety too. The only thing that lets them down is the price really - but even then - for one or two models in a force, or as characters they balance with GW prices anyway. ;-)

yeah i've been buying these for a couple of years and i'm really pleased with them - i've got the Dwarf Slayer and the Dark Elf Sorceress amongst others and they are exquisite!

i mention these two as they are polar opposites - the Dwarf being bulky and detailed with the Dark Elf being very slender and simple, yet both are head and shoulders above most other independent companies!

Everybody else is like "we'z gotta strip down to be slippery like". Beakies do this, umies do this, even orkses do this, but Eldarz all like " You'z all stupid, dats why youz monkeys. Iz putting on 'eavier armor, iz gonna stomp through the jungle all sneaky like and chainsaw you stealthy like cuz Eldar's da best like dat. And if youz looks at me funny, dakka comes outta my face"

Well sculpted, nice scale. Look gorgeous. A bit pricey, although so is GW. I'm suprised GW let him get away with 'some' of his sculpts though as they are a total rip off of the GW stuff... I would like him to come up with something original as he would do really well... Instead of just ripping of GW IP! He has allot of talent... But ffs sculpt something original!

Problem is a lot of 'original' stuff equates to 'indy' stuff - ergo to be totally original it won't sit in a common game system like GW's games. The sculptor is aiming at alternative choices for gamers FOR the gw games market. It's easier to aim at a market than create a new one in the face of corporate competition.

I see your point... And I totally agree with what you are saying... I totally changed my mind... Ow wait no I didn't... lol...

Not attacking you...I 'm just saying it's possible to do good figures, that are compatible, which actually look different!
Like I said the stuff he does is good, but way to close to GW's! And if people actually go and look around, there are loads of good mini companies out and about which do better stuff than GW.

eg: GW Skulltaker

AoW Deamon Champion

I actually like AoW one more.... BUT... Almost the same mini

It's possible to come up with something original, that doesn't look almost the same, and still be able to use it in 40k, WFB games!

Like I said not attacking anyone, I'm just used to other forums where people don't just collect GW stuff and speak there mind :)

the point is to look very similar tho so it fits in neatly with the rest of the persons collection.. Avatars aren't going for original pieces, what they are doing is making alternative character models for people who want there armies to look a little different..
