Incoming Tomb Kings - May \o/

Postby Baragash » Mon Feb 14, 2011 10:00 am

Holy cow, an army I play will actually have an up to date army book/codex at last.... :D

https://www.games-workshop.com/gws/cont ... id=1013783

An ancient race that has lain dormant for thousands of years, the Tomb Kings now awaken from within their ancient burial pyramids. Cheated from the eternal life that they were promised, the Tomb Kings are instead doomed to an eternal undeath - awakened they thirst for vengeance against those who would disturb their slumber.

At the command of these undying lords march legions of implacable Skeleton Warriors, hosts of chariots crewed by long-dead crewmen and towering statues carved from unyielding stone.

The armies of the Tomb Kings are vast, unstoppable hordes that know neither fear nor remorse - and they shall not rest until all who stand against them are laid low.

This May Warhammer: Tomb Kings is released, containing everything you need to use the legions of Nehekhara in your games of Warhammer.

Alongside the new book we'll also be releases a slew of amazing new miniatures for Tomb Kings players to collect and add to their armies. Details are being kept firmly under wraps for now, but more details will be available over the coming months. To make sure you're the first to see the new models and read the latest news keep your eyes fixed to the pages of White Dwarf, the Games Workshop newsletter and the What's New Today blog.

In the meantime, if you're a Tomb Kings player (or thinking about becoming one) it's time to start building up your Undead hordes in preparation for the new arrivals. So, out with the large drybrush (and the pot of Bleached Bone) and onwards to glory!

Presented below are two exclusive sneak peeks at the upcoming releases. Please keep checking back on the website, and in White Dwarf for more information in the near future.

It looks like an accelerated schedule here, March and May for Fantasy releases with GK for 40K sandwiched in between. I wonder what that holds in store for June for 40k?

It will have to be a stupendous book for me to pick it up. We've been dying (pun intended) for a book for ages, but now it's nearly here I'm not excited by it. I think this release will be a real test for me in terms of value for money. Will the new models be good enough to justify the cost? I have no doubt the new stuff will follow the current fantasy price brackets. Tomb Kings are one of my favourite forces. Will this be enough to get me back in the game?

Oh baby...... *runs up to the loft*

*runs back down for toilet paper*

*runs back up and starts grabbing his TK*

I leave the interpretation of "TK" entirely to the reader ;)

Might have to dig my Tomb Kings out again as well! It was the whole Egyptian look and generally nice looking models that attracted me to the TK in the first place and these just look awesome! Looks like they've finally got some decent cavalry as well.

Looks great! *waits for price list*

Thanks very much for the pics!

edit: squinting at the full army pic it looks like the current (big boned) plastic skeleton kit is still in use.

Angelwing, I don't think they'll replace them as they are still on the GW website to buy whereas stuff that is being replaced (the Tomb Guard) have been taken off.

On a related note if anyone wants to start a TK army I would get in now and buy your Core stuff like skelies as they will probably do what they did with the Orc Boyz set and reduce the number of models in the box to 10 but keep the price the same.
