Trolls and Boar Boyz on advanced order

Postby mattjgilbert » Wed Apr 14, 2010 8:35 pm

I like the price of the boar boyz but not the boars - they look way too cartooney/cutesy.
I like the troll models but not the price!

Guess there is no pleasing me ;)

Again I think they (the boars) are suffering from a dodgy paint job like the minos, I just happy they are not as big as the boar boyz I made!

I really do like the trolls and they are cheaper than buying metals so win win!

I think I'll have to pay a visit to the local GW to see the boars for real

I'm liking the Trolls - I keep thinking that they would make good 'counts as' in a 40K Nurgle themed Daemon army..."Plague Crushers" (Nurgle alternative to Khorne variety)? Would they look good on 60mm round bases?

see now I like the boars, but looking at them closely I can't help but feel sorry for them - they just seem to have this panicked mournful look on their poor little piggy faces! (aaaaah!) The trolls are great, love the vomitting one. Makes me want to dig my greenskins out of the back of the cupboard, although if I do I'm likely to play three games and then just sell em......

It's true. Going cavalry heavy for orcs is way too expensive. 'Tis a shame, as it looks great to do it.

Got to agree with you Matt. The boars look a bit silly, and the trolls...how much? :(

Trolls are the same price as the 40k killa kans. Assuming theres a similar amount of plastic, and they're similar in size, I see no problems.

My problem with the troll price is the same I have with the tyranid raveners. Yes, they might well be the same or slightly cheaper, but believe you me, when you open the box and find two medium size sprues of plastic you might start to question the wisdom of shelling out that sort of money. Even with the generous discount from Gav and Nige, I looked at my plastic raveners and shook my head. The metals where bloody expensive to begin with. GW are not helping themselves with this sort of price structure. I was fully expecting the raveners to be the same price as warriors. ie 3 in a box, same size model with similar options. Turned out a third more expensive. There are far too many of these sorts of priced boxsets coming out. I guess though if people keep buying them.....
