End of year and New Year Stuff!

End of year and New Year Stuff!

Postby timewizard » Sun Dec 15, 2013 6:10 pm

World of Tanks has a ton of stuff coming up for the end of the year and into next year.

http://worldoftanks.com/en/news/22/holi ... ials-2013/

Since Japanese tanks will be available for reduced credits next year, I would guess version 8.10 is close!

And with the 15% discounts on tier VIII-X tanks and the 50% discount on crew retraining, I'm glad I held off buying my Jagtiger and E-75!

This week will be a great time to roll them out!

EDIT: And don't forget your present from WoT!

Log in to World of Tanks between December 25 and January 16 to receive your New Year's gift: the Light Mk. VIC!

The 15% discount will be handy - I'm looking at getting a VK4052a or Panther II. Maybe both if I can wrack up enough credits in the missions :)

I am miles away from getting a tier 8+ tank, so I may miss out on those deals. Still, plenty of time to catch up. If I play day an night until Christmas day!

I picked up the Rhm B. WT yesterday. Loving it so far. The gun depression is non-existent, but it packs a nice punch that even tier 10s need to not ignore me now.

Thinking that for the same time, I might be better off grinding my T32 though and not the TD so I can get to the M103 and finally have a Tier 9 tank to play. Will have to see though. I am having so much fun in the TD right now.

Which TD? The M103 only really comes alive once it's fully upgraded and that takes a lot to do as unless you have free Xp to at least get the middle 120mm gun it's super painful! Plus absolutely no modules carry over from the T32. It's a hell of a grind.

The TD from the Rhm is the WT auf Pz. IV.

I think I may still push to the M103 since it will at least get me the T9 tank. Its been a grind regardless so another isn't likely to make a huge difference to me anyway.

The M103 is an amazing tank, even with the first 120mm (25k xp)

Definitely worth the grind.

I agree that the M103 is a great tank. And so is the T110E5. Both are definitely worth the grind.

I still have to pick up what I want to get, have a bad cold right now so didn't get on last night.

So far I have the Rhm fully researched, The E75 fully researched, the Jagtiger fully researched and the Indian Panzer researched.

So which to get first? Still don't know, but with crew training and retraining at 50% off and the credit discount, I can pick up at least a couple of them. I already re-stocked some consumables so those are good to go.

After Christmas, I'll decide which ones to perma-camo!

I guess I'll have to pick up a few garage slots too since they're half off also.

The Pz Iv TD is a good grind as well, since the tier 10 on that line is a beast of an autoloader!

I agree that the M103 is a good tank, although mine was a derp magnet as no matter how well I did in it the team around me conspired to fail hard (hence why I sold it and only have a 42% wr in it), but you need at least the middle 120mm on it. The 105mm is barely good enough on the T32 and is hopeless on a tier 9 tank. I still stand by my statement that it only comes alive once it is fully unlocked. I would say that stock it is very underpowered, even more so than other stock tanks, and at tier 9 you just can't get away with it like you can a lower tiers. Still think as well that the Conqueror is a better tank, at least stock with it you get the 20 pdr which at tier 9 is a machine gun!

The L1A1 120mm is an awesome gun, IMHO the best tier 9 top heavy gun in the game. The best pen, 400 alpha, best accuracy, best aim time and with vents and rammer the best RoF. It's even better on the Tortoise! The top gun on the M103 has the same alpha but everything else is worse, despite the fact that historically the L1A1 was a licence built version of the M103s gun.

Got myself some auto fire extinguishers and a GLD - 4 games of 7v7, 3 wins. Quickest 300k (once the consumables half price offer ends, no point selling the extinguishers at 5k each), or 600k if I keep them, I've earned :D Shame this is the only night I've had chance to play this week.

With the special offer on 2000 gold + 2000000 credits starting tomorrow I should be able to get a VK4502a and a Ferdinand in the garage!
