I am in BIA. just joined up with them. Solid group and fun to play with. Lots of TC stuff and just did the Skirmish 42 last week and we got 3rd place. I think we are doing Clan wars this week. Not sure I will get a chance to do that due to time.

TW, I added you to my friends list. name is imjedi.

I've already worked through some of the code fixing coding issues and tidied up various bits that were poorly handled. Tt wasn't my code originally, I just modded it to add the XVM/WN7 ratings and clan icons and left the rest as it was - which I'm now beginning to realise was a big mistake.

I'm aiming to overhaul it massively - the final image won't be much different, if at all, but the code that handles it will be rewritten pretty much from the ground up and the API handler updated from 1.9 to 2.0; the new API has way more data to work with, including per tank stats so can be used to rate performance on individual tanks as well as overall (which will also mean I can update the stats page to look much nicer, similar to the WoT profile page/assistant app, but with per tank ratings as well). I'll also look at making the code stable enough to allow other websites to use it, so the source code will be available to anyone to run on their own site.

I'm going to look at getting some of this done at the weekend, so I might be in a position to enable it for public use sometime next week, albeit with an Age of Strife watermark and less frequent updates on sigs for players not in my list of "authorised" users.

I was almost prepared to open up the signature generator later next week, but now I'm not so sure. I can't believe the email I just received. Here's a copy of it, for anyone who wants to know how to make sure they get a lifetime ban.

I was one of the users of the World of Tanks signature generator. I found out that my signature has been blocked and when I checked on the forum, it appeared that signatures have been disabled without any warning for all non-forum users.
Thank you for such a move, it's really pleasant to be banned without a single warning. Moreover, the signature generator was - and still is - available online and IT HAS NEVER BEEN SPECIFIED AT ANY TIME THAT ONLY FORUM SUBSCRIBERS HAD THE RIGHT TO USE IT. As a result, this ban is completely unjustified and selfish for it's been imposed on a basically free feature, and what's more, it's been done in deplorable conditions. Therefore I demand the restoration of my rights and access back to my signature.

It's jerks like this that make me realise how lucky we are on AoS; this is not the sort of person I want frequenting this forum. If I find out what their WoT username is (and I'm kicking myself for not reply first to ask them what the ID is before sending my reply) I'll make sure even if I open up the generator to the public that their ID is the first included a permanent block list.

UPDATE: tracked down the player name and ID, permanent ban list initiated.

UPDATE: wow, the retard replied and dug himself in even deeper.

No problem. I don't care a shit about your forum. I'm tired of wasting my time on subscribing to thousands of useless forums I don't care about just to have access to features some of them - like yours - don't even own. I really don't think you were the one who created that signature generator as it was the one from 1stcav.net before the site disappeared. As to your comment about " I deliberately made the URL to the form which creates it obscure so that it was only accessible by someone who used the forum", it's bullshit, otherwise how do you explain that I've been able to use it without even being AWARE of the existence of your forum? Therefore, this SG is -1- not your creation, and -2- is a free feature, or at least, NEVER has been indicated as a feature requiring a subscription.
Anyway, I'll stop here wasting my time with people like you who don't have better things to do than to ban long-time users of a feature nobody really bothered about without trying to get some kind of profit from it. Sharing is an ancient concept now, selfishness is a rule. Congratulations, you'll get far with this spirit. Go on ruling your world and ban me as long as you feel like to, I hope it makes you feel better. No wonder your forum's popularity is so obscure.

Sent another reply straightening up a few facts (never did claim I created the sig generator, and anyone who takes the time to read this forum will quickly find out who did create it but that I contributed code to it), and pointed out that he now gets his own unique signature if he still tries to use it. Why is there always one idiot like this who thinks he has a right to leech everything and anything without even so much as a thanks. Sheesh.

Well done André Fahrenheit / Lhynn (lhynn51@hotmail.com), you are the first person to make the "Hall of Shame". Hopefully you'll also be the last.

As we used to say at the scene of a fatal accident....

"Okay people, let's move on, there's noting more to be seen here but blood and useless bits of brains."

Would it be a stretch to imagine that this particular tard is a regular on say Dakka or 'seer?

If nothing else, this clearly illustrates why Spack took the sig's offf for non-forum users.

And the burning question is, if this tard is a non-forum user, then wtf does he even care if there's a sig on this site for him?

As my hero Bugs Bunny would say, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_Kh7nLplWo

Tw, the sig can be used on any forum, not just here on aos. This guy is a WoT player in a French clan. Pretty much all of the players who used the sigs did so without even coming to the forums, and a lot of the sigs are used on private WoT clan forums; every request is logged and most include referring URLs so it's easy to track down where they're being used.

As stated in the first post I am still going to open up the sigs to the public again, but not until I'm sure that the server won't get swamped like it did earlier in the week.

Ah! Okay that makes more sense now.

But I was using the sig on wot as well.

And which French clan? The "Oh My, the enemy is here, run like hell!" clan? :)
