So Long GW, It's Been Emotional...

Discussion of anything 40K related

I went to Warhammer world with the kids this weekend. I have some GW vouchers that I've got for reasons I can't entirely pinpoint. I was going to buy the kids something with them to paint for themselves. The prices are jaw dropping - I simply couldn't do it.

We went home we found a load of unpainted space marines in a box somewhere & they had a hoot painting a few of them blue and red and purple and green.

I won't be getting rid of any of my armies, but I currently have no incentive or impetus to play. I've nothing really against GW or 40k. If 7th is pants & I feel the urge to kill some space marines I think I'll drop back into 2nd or 5th.

vouchers are money already in GW's pocket. You might as well exchange them for stuff, perhaps some scenery that you can use in games of 40k or other games.

Agree, but it still feels wrong!

Given that I managed to rustle up over 200 space marines, mostly in need of stripping, yesterday - there is very little that I "need" to buy.

Not spending them irritates accountants though so he should save them until the last moment

Give the vouchers as a gift to someone else?

I now feel like I'm living with a guilty secret... I played my second game of 6th yesterday. I really enjoyed it. My BA(really not good in 6th) took on daemons, 1500pts, kill points. I won, but it was close. I was helped by a hastily constructed quad gun to scare his Helldrake, but it didn't kill it. I learnt a bit more that will probably be helpful in 7th (why challenges are good!). I think I'll give 7th a fair crack. The club I play at is not super competitive, but it's not overly friendly in terms of list composition. I've held my own in 2 games with a sub-optimised, not 6th-friendly BA list and hack a blast both times.

I'm now planning my Salamanders with more gusto now...

When I was a redshirt, we hated vouchers being exchanged in the store. they added nothing to our punishing targets. we loved selling them though, haha

And here is another thread brought back from the depths of the forums. Please start new topics and not comment on items months, or in this case years old.
The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money.
