wow niki.. strong feelings there fella ;)

I'm sure your weren't directly calling Matt a greedy seller either lol I think Matt's Cron's are nice, but you are right, the army I'm doing is gonna be painted really basic and quick. Silver spray, washed and a couple of greens dots for eyes, type thing. So as nice as they are I'm certain, because I've seen Matt's work in real life, I'll have to agree with Toby, we are at opposite ends of the market here.

I disagree however that I'm 'using my buying power' to get his models. I am trying to do this as I normal guy who doesn't own a shop, who only has access to the same resources as anyone else buying GW product. So I will continue to hunt those crons with arms glued to crotches lol like that, but it's right, I'm looking for tat I can clean up :)

but it looks like I'll have to wait as the next auction to end soonest is tmw :(

Niki has a point, the second hand market is being invaded by resellers. there's a seller on here, (he puts raffle tickets in his picture to identify each lot), and he has approx. 50% of what is on offer.

Those necrons were sprayed boltgun metal and then drybrushed. I can't remember putting a wash on them (although it was years ago). So not much different to what you intend to do anyway Nige.

I'd say they were tabletop standard.

In fact I've probably still got several unused cans of boltgun metal... ;)

thats practically £1 a model there Nige, and the picture is so tiny you can't see the quality properly. I still think Matts offer is great. None of that fiddly clipping, cleaning and assembling!

£23 for 28 models wasn't it? £0.82 per model. But I haven't bid as I hope to get them even cheaper :)

they are already closer to my £0.75 than £1.00 each :)

Bummer - just checked - £4 postage on them, grrr, almost same as matt's now.

BTW Matt are you prepared to split them, i'm not sure the new codex wants 40 warriors...

A unit of 10 warriors is only 130 points in game. 40 warriors is not an unplayable number.
There may be games where you want to run more warriors, some where you may want to run less.

The Necron list I saw:

2 x Monoliths
6 x Wraiths
2 x Night Sythes with 6 warriors
1 x Ghost ark with 9 warriors I think
3 x Spiders
3 x Scarabs
3 x Scarabs
1 x Necron Overlord kitted out (200pts)
1 x Necron Overlord (warsythe only) in..
1 x Command Barge

2 monoliths are arguably not competitive, but not many warriors more if it was replaced? I'm guessing this list isn't too competitive, so what other options should I be looking at?

Thats just under about 1600 points depending on the build for the spyders and lords.
