Codex inquisition

Postby KInG » Sat Nov 16, 2013 8:31 am

Just bought and downloaded the digital version last night. Very very disappointed. Only inquistors in there with an army listing are coteaz and karamazov (guy in walker) both from and identical to grey knight codex. All the henchmen are there also except the warriors and the standard inquisitors that you customise yourself also from gk codex.

The only thing new is the relics and the foc that tells you how to include them as a detachment. Not read the psychic powers but they all seem to be from the codex also, therefore all geared to daemons or general. Nothing specific for hunting witches or heratics, etc.

Marks out of 10 for an opportunity missed. 10/10

Barely merits a codex of their own, then? Shame.

From the buzz I've seen it's looking like assassins might get the same treatment and Deathwatch/Ordos Xenos might get there own book. It's interesting that this codex can ally with imperials and not count toward the limit so you can have three allied lists and you can get a 55 point divination HQ without the need to buy other units from this codex.

Is there anything beneficial for you chaps to get each of these as seperate downloads? I'm thinking of the file size to cost ratio. Are the pdfs that large for the full codex downloads?

Wooo content?.. oh no wait.

Meh..
I'm sat waiting to be disappointed by Clan Raukaan, how can iron hands not be sexy, how can they not get a special character at last, how can they ruin the power combo of shield eternal plus IH to force people to admit they aren't really that fluffy.. I see a wall of tears on the 24th
But the fluff will be nice.

Thats ok, I'm sure your mantic story we'll read in 13 days will be sufficiently awesome to make amends for lack of gaming and everything.. ;)

Mantic story?

I always fancied an inquisition force. Sorry to hear the book doesn't seem that good.

Inquisition forces can be relatively easily done through a GK/IG mashup. Shame that it's harder to get WH into the mix. I suppose now that you can go IG primary, WH ally to get repentia/ big walker things (sisters can be a squad of power armoured henchmen), and Inq "codex" to add a few other nutters.

Not a great list by any means, but that doesn't really matter any more...

that thing where tale of 1000 painters actually write something down.. that bit where all the dreadballl fans who write nothing (other than 'buy mantic') write about their teams lockerroom fistfight, where King rewrites the words to greensleeves to evoke the morale of guard facing being eaten by nids.. etc etc etc

@ Toby. :/

I don't see anything in this codex you couldn'to do with gk as primary and using just the inquisitors and henchmen, then paired with anything else you want.
Or anything you want paired with gk allies.

All this does is allow u to take an inquisitor alone and stick it in any other allied list.

Take Warhammer fluff, change 5%, assume the author got bored/busy about 80% of the way through and decided it was "good enough" and bam, job done ;)

@Nige: my, admittedly limited since I don't pay too much attention, understanding is this opens up very cheap/easy access to Inquisitors busting useful psychic powers (and conceivably you could take 5 with the right set up).
