All hail Armageddon inc from These Wargamers Are Triumphant (T.W.A.T.)

Saaaandbag?
A saaaaaandbaaaaag???

I have a terrain making shed too, in which Caspar (the unfriendly Tau) and I make saaaandbags.

The shed is known as the shed of disasters (S.O.D.) as it has seen many a towering inferno and conflagration from my homemade hot wire cutting tool (no joke, it's fething lethal, str 10, melta, rending).

How do you make your saaaaandbags?
We use early learning centre air drying clay.

Amen brother early leaning is the don stuff for sandbags.
I must have made 2 or 3 hundred of those things over a few buildings.

I lost count of endless hours spent in the freezing cold with a glue gun in one hand and a stanly stuck to the other.

kindred spirit amigo!!!

Tell you what, we'll pop down and make some hills with the firey wand of death, while you make saaaandbags.
We'll all be toasty warm and have a laugh with the Fire Brigade as they douse the wreckage of your shed.

After disobeying orders again we have been locked in the garage for the last few months steadily producing more scenary. After finally digging the escape tunnel we brought some pictures to show you what had been created:

Trouble is you make em to chuncky and they look wrong,
To thin and their to flimsy.
The flat dowl does keep em fairly stright, to a point,
And their stored on top of one another between games to also help.

See - I told them that the roads would be the thing that people commented on!!

Nobody cares that they took no effort to produce compared to all the shiny buildings - I don't know why we bother :P

Well, tbh, almost all of the pictures seem to be centered on the roads! It made it look like the roads were the main feature. The buildings do look great as well making a rather large and spread out city. I like the piece in photo 5, it almost looks like a little park or monument. Is that what it is? Having the entrance on the corner of the diagonal was a nice touch as well.
I had a few questionsabout the rorad as well (sorry  ) Are they the GW road pieces? What is the width of the road sections? How did you fashion the 'T' intersections?
Good looking boards!

Thanks for the feedback on the scenary pieces. In fact the main purpose of the pictures was for us to demonstrate to our fellow club members how well the roads tied together the often random placement of buildings.

The piece in picture 5 is a work in progress for a shrine/park area, when finished the main open areas will be laid to lawn and the paving painted to introduce some colour.

The road sections are based on the GW roll of road that you can buy. The width is ok for small vehicles (rhino size), but worked out too small for land raider. This is the reason that we mounted them up with pavements on as these work out fine for any vehicles to drive along.

We made up a number of different sizes of road piece so that we could create different road layouts. We created 2' lengths, 18" lengths, 2 t-junctions, 1 x-roads and 2 corners. All the buildings on the board are based on 12" square boards, hence the reason we went for these size pieces of road.

The corners, t-junction and x-roads were built on 12" square pieces of board and we aligned the road so that it ran in from the middle of an edge. The matting supplied by GW is easyily cutable so we simply cut the pieces to fit (they supply some handy templates that make this a little easier.

The one road piece that didn't make it into these photos was a Y-junction, this was the hardest to layout on the board (and a real nightmare to get all the bits of road cut and to join up properly!)
