So Mantic had a 15% off to celebrate Ronnie's (the owner) birthday, and I took the opportunity to buy both Kings Of War armies from Mhorgoth's Revenge to ~1,000pts (Undead at 1,015 and Dwarfs at 1,005 or 1,020 depending on if I upgrade the Crossbows to Rifles, ignoring Mhorgoth for now).

"Only available for the offer duration" items I went for:
5 Undead Zombie Sprues (3 Zombies per sprue) to make the unit from the basic set into a 30 model unit

Whilst I'm at Salute, thought I may as well use my discount from buying Dwarf King's Hold to pick up some Mantic Undead Revenant Cavalry and Dwarf Shieldbreakers, so I ordered them for pick-up.

Done some modelling this evening....

3 of the Dwarf characters from the War Counsel set (Warsmith, Berserker Lord, Army Standard Bearer)

Mhorgoth the Faceless


And assembled (but didn't clean) the legs for a unit of 20 Ghouls


Previously I also assembled the Omens of Death set (Balefire Catapult and a unit of 20 Skeletons)

Little experiment in dipping on a "red shirt" model:



Method:
Spray white
Usual base technique
Brush on Quickshade Medium
Clean brush in white spirit
Pick out collar in Chainmail
Light drybrush of Bleached Bone
Light drybrush of Skull White (inc base)

Job done

(Well I need to tidy the rim and do a quick wash on the Chainmail, but yeah)

Hopefully this will develop into a speedy appearance of my Tomb Kings
