Age of the Emperor - The War in Golconda

by DaBoss on Mon Oct 17, 2011 8:09 am
So latest Tempus Fugitives took my Worldeaters with new Angron model to battle against the loyal forces of the Emperor.
Angron turned out to be a beast, but also found 20 man squads to be very effective.

Game 1 - Blood Angels - single planet strike
Defending my Indomitable Fortress against a horde of Blood Angel Assault marines with a couple of Custodians. Angron got into the fray - game over
Win for the Worldeaters 157 vp to 64 vp

Game 2 - Salamanders & RavenGuard - double planet strike
I was joined by a DeathGuard player from my faction.
The Salamanders were joined by some Mechanicum and launched a Teleport attack killing 19 of 20 Worldeater Devastators....
Then it all went sour for the Imperials as Angron and Typhus went on the rampage.
Win for the Warmaster Forces - 223 vp to 22 vp.

Game 3 - Dark Eldar - single heavy assault force 2500pts
Never faced Dark Eldar with the Worldeaters, had a terrible time with reserves with only Devastators and Angron on the table for 3 turns. This...

Grey Knights WIP

by Bob_to_Some on Wed Apr 27, 2011 8:19 pm
I thought a blog would help me keep on top of my project!

I have had a fairly good size of grey knights for some years now, back when the now old ones were released as deamonhunters.

So my army thus far:

Grand Master - Built/painted
Librarian - WIP
Brotherhood Champ - WIP
Inquisitor - done

Culexus Assasin - done
Eversor - done
Purifiers x 9 - halberds and 2 x incinerators - Done (Want to repaint though)
+Rhino - unpainted
Inquisitorial henchmen - mix of minis 10-20 depending on what I field - mixture of painted unpainted minis

6 Terminators with mix of halberds and swords, 1 incinerator and 1 pyscannon

6 normal Grey knights with halberds and 2 x incinerators

Storm Raven - built but not painted

Dreadknight - Want to convert to be almost running and sword in 2 hands - next big project

Dreadnaught - done

LR Crusader - converted and built not painted

I will try and tick off as I go and undoubtedly buy more stuff.

Next purchases will be a squad of Paladins and normal strike squad...

FoW AAR - Conflict Campaign Weekend 2011

by DaBoss on Wed Dec 07, 2011 7:18 pm
So this last weekend I went along to Conflict 2011 - a new type of FoW event, instead of Tournament based line ups, each Player had to decide if they were going to be on the either the Allies or Axis side; armies and scenery would be themed to be Normandy & 'Hells Highway' era's.

So I decided to throw in with the Germans and planned out 4 lists to try my skills with:
1 - FestungKompanie defending the Atlantic Wall
2 - PanzerKompanie racing to intercept the invading Allies.
3 - Schwere PanzerKompanie defiantly blocking the Allies advance.
Day 2 - my FallschirmjagerKompanie led by Von der Heydte would try and inflict as much damage on the Allied forces pushing towards Arnhiem.

A great weekend was had, managed to win 3 games of the 5. But really liked the theme that the weekend promoted in peoples armies.

Next Year sounds like it might be a Bagration Themed event - so I might have to pull out the Russian hordes for that one.

Anyway, attached is a write up of my battles and opponents....

E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne. 20th May 13

by Cain Tiberius on Mon May 20, 2013 10:58 pm
Hey folks.

I'll start by saying, I'm not hugely into historical modelling. I prefer Sci-Fi and at a push, Fantacy. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy watching war movies / series and documentaries. And I have built model aircraft both WW2 and more recent over the years. But as far as table top is concerned, it never interested me.

However... After having a couple demo games that I really enjoyed, and seeing the level of interest that Bolt Action is gaining at a local gaming store... I decided to get a bit of a small force. My favourite WW2 show has always been Band of Brothers. I don't know why, but it just clicks with me. So my first set has to be the Screaming Eagles.

The set is of 21 men and includes:
An Officer, Platoon Sergeant, Radio Operator and a Medic.
10 Parratroopers including 2 Sergeants. 1 with Thompson, the other with M1 Carbine. The othe 8 have M1 Garands.
2 man .30 Cal LMG team. 2 man Bazooka team. And a 60mm Mortar with 3 crew.

On to pictures. To be noted before anyone...
