This has been ongoing for over a year now, but with interuptions like moving etc it has progressed in fits and starts.

Firstly my latest additions:

Building is directly lifted from the wonderful Matakishi's site. http://www.matakishi.com/afghancompoundbuild.htm

I have borrowed his Afghan compounds to use for villagers living near the Fire Zone on Venus. It is currently unpained as I intend to make several more of them and then batch paint them.

The base is 300mm square MDF, and the Orks on the roof for scaling are GW ones.

Also in the shot are 2 of my wip vehicles, a Saladin APC and a M113.

On the roof is also a BAOV Dragon Team and the Brig overseeing the building with the thought of using it for his new HQ.

Finished painting my Pandora models, including Avatar of Famine (with Teenage Candy) and old sculpt of Pandora.
Planning to use old sculpt to show her having reached the 1st manifestation criteria.



Teenage Candy needs a little bit more work finishing off her base and maybe darken her hair - bit bright yellow at the moment.

With a lot of time on my hands in the evening (away on Customer Site and staying in hotels), I spent some time thinking over the costing of models and the unit size cost again.

So starting with a Skeleton Troop (10) at 45pts - that equates to a 'Single Model Cost' (SMC) of 4.5pts
likewise an Elven Spearmen Troop (10) at 60pts means a SMC of 6pts

If we take all the units from both the Undead and Elven factions, we get:
Undead
Skeleton 4.5pts
Revenant 6pts
Zombie 3pts
Wraith 25pts
Ghoul 4.5pts
Revenant Cavalry 16pts

Elven
Spearman 6pts
Sea Guard 10pts
Bowmen 9pts
Scout 8pts
Palace Guard 7pts
Stormwind Cavalry 18pts

So far so good...

Now looking at the Unit costs using these single model costs

So taking a Skeleton Troop (10) at a cost of 45pts

So this last weekend I went along to Conflict 2011 - a new type of FoW event, instead of Tournament based line ups, each Player had to decide if they were going to be on the either the Allies or Axis side; armies and scenery would be themed to be Normandy & 'Hells Highway' era's.

So I decided to throw in with the Germans and planned out 4 lists to try my skills with:
1 - FestungKompanie defending the Atlantic Wall
2 - PanzerKompanie racing to intercept the invading Allies.
3 - Schwere PanzerKompanie defiantly blocking the Allies advance.
Day 2 - my FallschirmjagerKompanie led by Von der Heydte would try and inflict as much damage on the Allied forces pushing towards Arnhiem.

A great weekend was had, managed to win 3 games of the 5. But really liked the theme that the weekend promoted in peoples armies.

Next Year sounds like it might be a Bagration Themed event - so I might have to pull out the Russian hordes for that one.
