awesome chris..

"Objective

The Allies must Liberate the VIP from the Mansion house.
The Germans must stop them
The historical result of the mission was a complete failure; of the roughly 300 men of the task force, 32 were killed in action during the raid and only 35 made it back to Allied-controlled territory, with the remainder being taken prisoner. All of the 57 tanks, jeeps, and other vehicles were lost."

Not this time fella... :)

one concern though, its a long way on and off in 6 turns

I thought so as well. Seems that unless the allies can get the VIP into a vehicle, there is no way to get him off the short table edge.

Would it be better maybe that the allies have to get the VIP off any table edge in the Allies Outflanking Zone? Or perhaps off and table edge within a certain distance from the allies short table edge?

I don't know how far Bolt Action units move in a turn.

Also, you designated the German Deployment Zone, but not the Allies Deployment Zone, unless they are all supposed to move on the table in turn 1, but it doesn't specify that in the scenario rules.

Other than that, looks like a very interesting scenario and game, well thought out!

Yes I wasnt really thinking of time limits as i forgot we cant just play till I win :-)

Units move 12" a turn on foot, and potentially 36" if onboard a vehicle if they do nothing else (run)
So thats probably 3/4 turns before you get to the buidling and 2 to get off.
As an ammendment then i reckon Allies should set up within 12" and units can drive on in the first wave and the VIP can be removed from any board edge in the Allies half of the table, as I see getting to the building taking more time than getting back. (getting back should be a mad dash.) I was going to add more roads but this way i dont think we need to
If you have alotof transports half the table may be too close? What do you think? (PS I have a halftrack i can bring if you need it)

I think we will need every transport we can lay our hands on ;)

My worry is only that you have worked your movement per turn on max movement on a road and theres one road. Maybe the mission should be ambush the allies ;)

I would recommend working out deployment starting points and exit points and distance to the objective based on moving over open ground. If that road get blocked from one shot first turn the allies wont be able to complete their mission by turn 6

Good job Chris! Basic premise seem goods to me, but I think that with with razor wire, tank traps and a watchtower Jerry is going to be damned hard to budge, even with half their troops coming on as reserves! Allies start so far away that this won't really make any difference as the Germans will have all their troops on and in position before the allies get close, so effectively they'll have the advantage of being in place, stationary and with obstacles etc by this time.

My suggestions would be:
reduce German deployment zone to 24" (so they have to move at least a bit and can't set up obstacles too far forward.
take 12" off the Allied board edge...just coz it's 8ft long doesn't mean we have to use it all!
no placement of any obstacles on the road itself (coz you wouldn't permanently block your own road)

If we get an opportunity another week it would be fun to see how it works with Germans attacking and Allies defending too.

You could do the following:

Allies escort VIP off the board - Decisive Allied Victory
Allies escort VIP out of German Deployment Zone - Minor Allied Victory
Allies locate the VIP but fail to escort him out of German Deployment Zone - Minor German Victory
Allies fail to locate the VIP - Decisive German Victory
