Anvils Hammer

So! to kick things off in the new year, we have a new contest!

This is purely a one shot deal, as there was no fourth place for BER, we've re-allocated the prize for this!

Rules are as follows (which some of you may recall from POTM) FOR THE ESSENTIALS ONLY, SCROLL DOWN TO THE RED TEXT

Each contestant must submit a photo of an unopened box, unassembled model or unpainted model or submit a drawing or photo describing the project into the "Anvils Hammer" thread by January the 15th. Primed only models are acceptable but completely unprimed models are preferred. All genres of modeling are acceptable; i.e. any 40K, WFB, LOTR, Malifaux, Warmachine plastic, metal, paper or collectable model. A list will be posted by one of the moderators in this post listing all eligible contestants for the month's competition. No entries will be accepted or can be changed after the 15th of January. No exceptions.

Please note, entries can be submitted from January 1st 2014, any submitted prior to that will be disqualified

During the month, wip photos can be put into the thread, and in fact are encouraged, but may not be placed in the competition gallery.

All completed entries must be submitted by the 27th of January and must posted in the competition gallery. No entries will be accepted after midnight GMT on January 27th. Only one entry per person will be permitted and the entry must consist of a single image. Multiple photos on the image are allowable but if more than one photo is uploaded to the gallery by any one entrant at any time, that entrant will be disqualified.

If an entrant has not completed their project by the deadline, they may still enter an incomplete entry if desired, but it will of course be judged as such. The only requirement is to post the entry by the deadline. The members of the site have the final word after all!

Voting will be held from just after midnight January 27th until midnight GMT on January 30th. At that time voting will be closed and the winners will be announced.

Every registered member of the site may vote. The total number of votes each member may cast will depend on the number of entrants as follows;
Up to 5 entries - 1 vote per registered member
6 to 10 entries - 2 votes per registered member
More than 10 entries - 3 votes per registered member
You can change your vote(s) until the poll is closed. No poll results will be revealed (even to the moderators) until the poll has closed.

There are two questions that immediately sprang to mind when I read the rules, I couldn't help but  that harbo has managed to nail them both in one.

As they don't affect me I'm going to leave it alone ;)

demon princes are the extreme limit of the scale we want entered, they aren't vehicles, they arent walkers, technically you could call them infantry (ie: organic with two legs), but even a custom made one, is still a game model, from a game system, which is the target ranges we want in

Talus wrote:photo of an unopened box, unassembled model or unpainted model or submit a drawing or photo describing the project

if its entirely home made, just a sketch would do, but if its converted from the base model, we'd need the box or at least the frames (or even whatever parts you have)

basically enough to show that it hasnt been made and painted in advance (this isnt an indication of mistrust, it's just to keep everyone on an even playing field)

and this is why i posted this early, to get questions and queries out of the way :)

I wanted to do up a Talos pain engine, but this comp is for an infantry figure.

So then I decided on a grotesque, but then saw that KInG is entering one.

So I thought I might enter something different, but then I though, what the heck, let the games begin KInG!

OK. So i decided to make an entry. Went through all my backlog for a infantry model that might have a chance to compete against the 40mm guys that the rest of this group is posting. Here is my selection.

If you want to see the actual GW model link: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... od1500460a

I don't have his packaging anymore though.
