Objective (Markers) Competition (ENTRY CLOSED)

Objective (Markers) Competition (ENTRY CLOSED)

Postby timewizard » Sat Feb 01, 2014 3:04 pm

objective markers.jpg

While the groundhog looks for his shadow, it’s time for you all to look for something to do up for this month’s contest.

Rules are as follows (FOR THE ESSENTIALS ONLY, SCROLL DOWN TO THE RED TEXT)

Each contestant must submit a photo of an unopened box, unassembled model or unpainted model or submit a drawing or photo describing the project into the “Objective (Markers) Competition” thread by February the 15th. Primed only models are acceptable but completely unprimed models are preferred.

A list will be posted by one of the moderators in this post listing all eligible contestants for the month's competition. No entries will be accepted or can be changed after the 15th of February. No exceptions.

During the month, wip photos can be put into the thread, and in fact are encouraged, but may not be placed in the competition gallery.

All completed entries must be submitted by the 25th of February and must posted in the competition gallery. No entries will be accepted after midnight GMT on February 25th. Only one entry per person will be permitted and the entry must consist of a single image. Multiple photos on the image are allowable but if more than one photo is uploaded to the gallery by any one entrant at any time, that entrant will be disqualified.

If an entrant has not completed their project by the deadline, they may still enter an incomplete entry if desired, but it will of course be judged as such. The only requirement is to post the entry by the deadline. The members of the site have the final word after all!

Voting will be held from just after midnight February 25th until midnight GMT on February 27th. At that time voting will be closed and the winners will be announced.

Every registered member of the site may vote. The total number of votes each member may cast will depend on the number of entrants as follows;
Up to 5 entries - 1 vote per registered member
6 to 10 entries - 2 votes per registered member
More than 10 entries - 3 votes per registered member
You can change your vote(s) until the poll is closed. No poll results will be revealed (even to the moderators) until the poll has closed.

ESSENTIALS

All types of Objectives and Objective Markers will be acceptable – within reason. Please do not submit a large scenery piece saying it’s an objective. Scenery will be the topic for a future contest. When submitting the Objective or Objective Marker, please specify which game it is for.

Entry open until February 15th
Contest closes Midnight February 25th
ONE entry per person

We look forward to seeing your entries!

Here's mine:
These are the objective markers that came with the "Open FIre" wtarter set. The size is pretty good for the game.

Image

The size is about equal to 2 medium bases, so glue a couple together, cover with some plasticard, go into the bits box and...

Image

The mockup for the Allied objective marker, a destroyed tank.

Image

And for the German side, a destroyed building, just have to figure out the rest of it.

EDIT-And this makes me the first entrant this month! Woot!

And I believe I had the first photo entered! ;)

Now on to business, the rules state that it must be an unpainted or primed model to be accepted. Clearly 2 oil drums and a couple of ammo crates are painted. So, your entry will be listed but it is pending approval until you post a wip of the markers either stripped of paint or primed.

Does that sound fair to you?

lmao - I did post about how you would want them previously, but here we go again.. shall I finish modelling and prime them for approval, or submit as they are as not finished modelling yet?

They aren't painted actually. they are coloured plastic with some dirt painted on them and some small letters I think that have been stuck on or printed on.

Would be best if you finished modelling them and primed them. Plenty of time, remember you have till the 15th.
All we have to do is remove the {pending} from you entry.

I plan on painting up my set of servo skull objectives that you get in the new GW dice sets. I've been meaning to get around to it for ages! Image

I'm toying with either a downed thunderhawk or crashsed rhino on 60mm base (epic scale). Will have a rummage through the boxes and see what bits I have. Will post a sketch or some parts later this week.

alright, as i yet dont have the parts for this

here's a rough picture of what im aiming for!

and when i say rough... i mean ROUGH, its freezing cold and i cant draw for beans :P

Image

on the left is a cash cache, for a robbery, on the right is an ammo cache, it'll actually be going into a scenic piece i have planned (a gun store) and be the objective in another robbery scenario (im keeping games simple right now till i get more scenic pieces done)

90% of both of these will be made from GS, so wish me luck!

oh and in case its not obvious, its for Dredd :P

Looks promising, and you're entered into the competition.
But like KInG's entry, final approval is pending until you post up a wip with some actual models.
The good thing about sketches is you don't need to have an actual model, since it will probably be a kitbash or scratchbuild.
The trouble with sketches is that there's nothing tangible as yet.

For that reason, it's pending something more.
