He is being facetious, and comparing the kickstarter to the shopping channel...

They switched the material on some of the teams, buried the news deep into a long update then had the cheek to a) use it as a "great thing" when an unrelated issue cropped up later b) try and tell me they hadn't committed to making them in restic even though it's one of the first pieces of information on the KS page.

Anyway.... it's not really limited edition because the cards & MVP will remain available, it's the trophy and rules that are "limited" though I suspect the rules aren't really limited because they'd stilll be available in PDF. So yeah, fine.

I wasn't aware of the switching thing.

You are right it's probably only limited in so much as the metal figure will only be cast a limited number of times.

It will be interesting to see how the weather effects impact the game. I hope wind is not a factor, as the whole premise of Dreadball is the ball moves at lightning speeds. I see it being a bit like BB in that the pitch becomes slippy when wet...

I'll probably get it anyway - I love Dreadball!

I thought he was saying entire teams were cast in metal, which I'd not heard of.

As an aside - Mantic are offering a free copy of Kick Off Extra Time (worth about £15 IIRC), with every base copy of "Kick off". So for £30 you get 16 players, a ref-bot, two balls, pitch, rulebook, pdf rulebook, cards, tokens and dice. Not a huge amount less than the £50 Deluxe edition, just 4 players (2 per side) and a roster sheet I think.
