Thanks Matt!

I just got this back

This should help. They’ll be smaller than Necrons (because Necrons are GW) but if the whole army is the same they’ll be fine.

Saucers are 88mm in diameter – see attached pic for scale.

Robot will be the size of a giant – Wraithlord size?

thanks for the shots.

Now to do some figuring and to decide if this is maddness for an idea or brilliance. My one main concerns will be the ability to add models as necessary later on. Since this is built as a boxed game, I may have issues with that since these are not going to exist for DZ or WP also. Will have to think on it some more. So far I did nab an opened $141 slot though so saving a few bucks is always nice.

OK. So my average Necron Warrior is slightly larger overall. About 35mm standing and the Martian with dome willbe about 34mm standing.

As for the Saucers, bigger issue, the are a good 25+ mm larger than the Destroyer bases making them a large target for LoS issues. I could also use them as Tomb Blades also. Overall the size will make them harder to hide them in this case or even pack em all together is an area. But the Saucers are still not big enough to be a Doomscythe or Nightscythe I think. I dont have one of them, but imagine they are as large as a Monolith base.

Wraithlord size wouldn't be too bad for the Stalker stand in, but if they are larger, for instance the size of Dreadknights/Wraithknights, then they would be way to big I think.

So what are peoples thoughts? I guess if we get a lot of discussion, we can split this part to a project log for it so as to not derail the Mars Attacks game thread itself.

Its sounds like a good idea (/\/\ try to be positive and people take it as a negative meh)
If you need more unit types for a john carter style force here are a few unit types I've considered.

http://www.bronzeagemin.com/miniatures_ ... Beasts.htm

http://www.bronzeagemin.com/miniatures_ ... Mutant.htm

http://www.parroom.net/parroomshowroom/ ... _Martians/

http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/skorne/solos

That skorne agonisers  ..

Problem is limited mech, I know the unlock stretch thing has probably been reached for grey knight martian robot thing.. and some of the giant maggots look a bit like the FW metal catapiller thing, but unless they add a load more mech your not going to have anything LOS wise like the cannon/standard transport thingy.

You could continue in a steampunky/ old school sci-fi way from other manufacturers - these for example...
