Search found 5442 matchesRe: Combat Patrol - Aeldari - The FatebreakersI have also started to work on vehicle support to expand the force towards 1000pts for future games. These were undercoated with black spray paint, then the upper hulls and turrets given a few light coats of Mephiston Red spray, and then the two at the front got some panel lining with Agrax Earthsha...
Combat Patrol - Aeldari - The FatebreakersAs well as painting up some Death Korps of Krieg for our Combat Patrol games to get into the 10th edition rules, I thought it would be fun to paint up an Aeldari list as well as a surprise for my opponents. They haven't been used yet, but given that one of the other players thinks they are far too o...
Combat Patrol - Death Korps of KriegEarlier in the year a few friends and I decided to play some 40k 10th edition Combat Patrol to learn how the rules worked, having not played since 6th edition. I thought it would be a good idea to use my Death Korps of Krieg (Forge World figures, not the chubby plastic ones!) as they've been sat in ...
Re: Downtime, and the future of the siteSomething I forgot to mention - if you have Cookies turned off in your browser, then unfortunately this may get your IP address a temporary ban. This is one of many checks being done in the background to try to slow down and ultimately stop the constant hammering of the site by distributed systems t...
Downtime, and the future of the siteIf anyone reading this is real, and you've been trying to use the site over the past few months, then you probably noticed that the site has been up and down like a yo-yo. The site has been targeted by hundreds of thousands of IPs each day hitting the same URLs over and over, as well as the usual cr...
Re: Realm of Battle game board - from grey to greenThe board is complete! My dining table isn't quite 48" wide but it's supports enough of the tiles that they won't fall off, and the clips will hold them together. Thought I'd add a few models for scale.
Re: Realm of Battle game board - from grey to greenGot up this morning eager to put the resin into the former skull pits. Mixed up 120ml (with hindsight might have only need to mix up about 90ml), added 3 drops of Zealot Yellow AP Speedpaint to give it a yellowy stagnant tinge (more like urine!) and carefully poured into each of the four pits. I wan...
Re: Realm of Battle game board - from grey to greenWent to check on the boards a couple of days later, and was met by disaster! Rather than the glue drying clear, it was white all over the place. It looked like melted snow all over the grass! 20251227_090752.jpg 20251227_090756.jpg 20251227_090801.jpg 20251227_090804.jpg Searching on Google I found ...
Re: Realm of Battle game board - from grey to greenAnd so onto the other 3 boards. I decided to speed up the process and skip the ochre drybrush, and also not to wait a few days for the paint to dry; surely I could just leave it overnight and it'd be fine. I prepped them in the same way as before - filler in the skull pits, raw umber over most of it...
Re: Realm of Battle game board - from grey to greenSo I've got a couple of board painted, and the paint was dry. Up to now it's easy to change anything, just a quick repaint. Flocking was pretty daunting at this point, as it's going to be messy to fix if it goes wrong, and other than putting some flock on a figure base back in the 90s I wasn't reall...
Realm of Battle game board - from grey to greenBeen a long time, really need to figure out what to do with this site. Been printing lots of 3d models but not been posting here, way too many photos to go through. But onto the topic ... I finally bought a Realm of Battle game board! When this first came out I was tempted, but thought it was way to...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedHaven't posted for a while again ... but have been printing a bunch more models. Like this Acastus Knight Porphyrion.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedBeen a bit quiet on here again. Weather has been a bit cold to making printing a bit harder, but now I've got a heater running I'm churning outv prints again. So i printed a Lucius Warhound last week. Stupidly I only checked the Suze of the foot model against my FW Chaos Warhound and as the were the...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedPrinted out a Fire Raptor from a free file by IronMaster on Cults3d, came out really well and went together with little Hale. Now tempted to print out the Storm Eagle by the same creator.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedGot most of the Thunderhawk glued together today, the nose is still separate (hence the elastic bands) so I can get the ladders and flight deck out to paint the interior. There are some gaps that need filling due to some warping in the prints where I didn't support well enough, and a few areas where...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedThe parts are printed, so I guess I need to figure out how to glue or all together. Lots of drilling and pinning coming soon.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedAnd a few more pieces
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedBig flying Marine thing inbound!
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedThat red is just the cheap Elegoo standard red - I've gone through 3 bottles (not just with this), which I'd bought more when it was £17 a bottle from Amazon ... cheapest now is about £24.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedI've neglected to post for a while again. I've printed about 3500pts of Khorne Daemons since my last photo, and a few other bits and pieces. This is all of the Khorne models I printed in red resin - Skarbrand, two Bloodthirsters, Rendmaster Herald on Blood Throne, Skull Cannon, a few Bloodmasters, S...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedAnd most recently decided to try a bit bigger again. This dragon needed 16 hours for the body and tail, another 16 hours for the 4 wing pieces together, and then another 6 hours for the base and a replacement tail end (I didn't support the tail properly and one spike didn't get printed). Was my firs...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedAnd so started a run of printing bigger and bigger models.
The first Skarbrand inspired thirster was printed in two plates, one for the body and one for the pair of wings. The other two were one plate each, with the wings either side of the body, scaled down to 85%.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedDecided to see how big I could go printing a single piece model, so scaled this forest dragon to just fit in the print volume. It was also a test of Elegoo abs like smoky gray resin, it has some flex to it so less risk of snapping small details.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedHad a run of printing Primarchs, taking large scale statues and scaling them down to 40k scale, and combining all the parts so they were printed as a single figure and separate base.
Still got a few more to do, but got sidetracked printing bigger things.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedHaven't updated this for a bit, but I've printed lots. And lots. And lots!
First up is a plasma blastgun to convert a plastic Shadowsword to a Stormblade. It's not an identical copy, but it's close enough. This is the first model I tried hollowing to save on resin.
