Re: Games Workshop CEO steps down.

He could have saved himself the effort of writing and just posted a link to One of Weird Al Yankovic's new songs.... Seriously though that sort of upheaval in head office structure is huge. If they've managed to eliminate £2m per year of middle management costs for a one off cost of £4m then they're...

Re: What is "sideboarding" ? - 6.5/7th edition

Yeah the system arises from Card games like Magic. It works there for tournament games because you have a three game match. 60 card decks with a 15 card sideboard. After the first game you can switch cards between the two to alter your deck to better suit your opponents. Of course they are doing the...

Re: Cardboard Minecraft sword

If he needs a better one he could always go with this:
From Man At Arms

The rest of the stuff he makes is pretty good as well.

Re: Robo Reboot

timewizard wrote:Of the 3, I think Harrison Ford has aged the best!

Nope, it's just because he's the only one who had a film career after Star Wars. Therefore he can afford (and needs) a better class of Plastic Surgeon.

Mr Hamill's best role is still The Joker.
No need to look good for that laugh.

Re: 750p Imperial Guard

Penal Legion Squad? Outflanking troops choice to take/contest objectives on the far side of the board. A bit random with their abilities but i've found all of them useful, even assault 2 lasguns when you roll the wrong board edge. They're a stubborn Ld 8 roadblock if you need to throw someone under ...

Re: Kickstarter - WTF

I like this. A kickstarter where I don't really want to get more than the basic levels. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/giantgoblingames/personalized-gaming-miniatures-of-you I'd love to have a couple of personalised heads for various projects but apart from a single Larger scale head (for Inqui...

Re: New SM codex.

The New Marine Unit can be a hard counter for the last two codexes new units. Devastator Centurions w/ Grav cannon and Amp. 15 shots AP 2 @ 24" range for the minimum sized unit. Wounds on your armour save with re-rolls. Very nice against Riptides and Wraithknights. Grav is also great on bikes f...

Re: Challenges

1. If you charged you'd have to wait until your own turn comes round again to perform a Glorious Intervention. rulebook pg 65 "A character cannot declare a Glorious Intervention in the first round of combat or during the enemy turn." It depends if you need to kill the Avatar now or just pr...

Re: tau

Backstory- The tau are a null race. They only spread to a few local stars originally because they could only make short unguided warp hops, having no navigator level psykers to guide them in the warp. It protects them from Chaos (and makes the Eldar like them). If we take the expanded races from Bat...

Re: New tau in april

Well it seems that GW underestimated the number of Tau players out there. I received an email from Dark Sphere this morning that stocks on the new Tau stuff will be in very limited supply. They've put the release of the Riptide back two weeks so they can fill them. Apparently the only thing that wil...

Re: How should demons come on the table? (pt1 of listbuild)

killmaimburn wrote:(where do I get rust from??)

It's built in to them. And it's the solution to heavy armour.
Plaguebearers now auto-glance vehicles on armour rolls of 6. Combat-gauss, in other words.

20 charging is an average of 4.444 hull points, should be enough to kill anything not super heavy.

Re: How should demons come on the table? (pt1 of listbuild)

Aegis plaguebearer comms unit (+quad)..(everything else on T2 due to rerolls, costs a chunk if resilient) or instruments and icons everywhere each unit on brings another on (cost spread has side perks of its own/e.g. overiding the table of chaos doom, meaning kairos isn't vital). Which one and why?...

Re: 2 that passed me by, requires wide codex knowledge.

The disadvantage to slow and purposeful is you can no longer overwatch. Because the rule spreads you can't put kombi-skorchers in units joined by mega armour (or in full units of meganobs) to act defensively. Shining Spears are also awesome with skilled rider. Turn 1 move 12", turbo boost 36&qu...
