Re: WFB due for overhaul?

TW, exactly. 40K has got progressively more broken, same as WHFB. I think WHFB hit it's peak at 6th ed, that version was just about right. But as usual GW just couldn't leave it alone and kept messing with it. Same as 40K, 3rd/4th ed were just about there but again they just couldn't leave it alone....

Re: WFB due for overhaul?

Stryder, not really. Only 18 have been named as two of the orginal Legions were expunged from records and, unless they have been named in the FW HH stuff, the Black Library HH books or 7th ed, basically any point in the last two years since I stopped caring about anything GW, then they could still s...

Re: WFB due for overhaul?

Oh god, GW, what are you doing? First they kill my interest in 40K by releasing a new edition just 2 years after the last one and now they appear to be totally destryoing WHFB. I've said it before and I'll say it again. GW, you can bite my shiny metal ass! I love WHFB, always have and have always co...

Re: Markb's DzC (and Friends) Blog

Been nearly a month since I updated the blog but I haven't been idle! First up is my finished Scourge Warriors, these took a lot longer than I anticipated however I think it was woth it. The bases aren't finished yet but as I don't have any flock they will have to wait until next month when I get ho...

Re: GW Smaug.

Berger, I agree that is a massive price tag, that kind of cash will buy you two complete 1500 pt DzC armies and the rules as well! When I see things like that it just reinforces my decision to give GW the elbow. It is a nice model though.

Re: Start set advice

Agree with Gav, the D-Day box is great provided you want to collect either Germans or Americans. Failing that the starter sets give you a standard 1000 point army. You don't really need the army books to start with as the main rule book has basic lists that you can use. If you don't want to shell ou...

Re: Markb's DzC (and Friends) Blog

Thanks. Yeah, like I said the base isn't done yet. When I get back home I'll add sand and staatic grass to finish it off.

Re: Markb's DzC (and Friends) Blog

I've decided to open the blog up to include all my other projects as well so here is the first non DzC thing. It's my first finished Brit 11th Armoured MG team. Well, almost finished as I haven't done the base yet due to me not actually having any basing materials! They are the PSC models, which are...

Re: PSC Late War Brit Infantry Test Model

Thanks, lads. I think the problem with the uniform highlighting is it was too heavy, I need to use a smaller brush to get a finer line.

Gav, I'm doing an armoured unit so I only have around 40 infantry to do so won't take that long. However I would agree with you if I was doing a Soviet Strelk army!

PSC Late War Brit Infantry Test Model

Just completed this today. I'm not overly happy with some of my work on it, the face is a bit of a mess. Also I'm not sure if the highlighting on the uniform is a bit extreme. I'm doing them as 11th Armoured so I tried to paint the regiment and divisional markings on his arm. Any comments, especiall...

Re: Am I Just Being Stupid?

I get that it is just an example but why put it on there if you can't actually make that army? I've been through the army book again and the only list I have found that allows you to take two mortars is the Market Garden list which you can't make with the 1000 pt box set.

Am I Just Being Stupid?

I got the 1000pt Brit starter army and have just started putting it together. Now as far as I can see it is supposed to be 1000pts. However, I also got the Armies of Great Britain book. On the side of the box it lists the army which gives both a 2" and 3" mortar. According to the army book...
