Re: So Long GW, It's Been Emotional...

I agree with all you have said Mark, it echos most of the reasons I have dropped GW after 17 years and spemding a load of money, which I don't regret its just unfortunately whilst they (GW) still make great models in my opion their gaming ethos just sucks these days. I hope someone in GW hq wakes up...

Painting Human Skin

Can anyone out there give me some suggestions of what shades etc to use when painting Humans? I used to use GW paint but I now tend to use Vallejo. Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated......a tutorial would be nice :D

Re: New game

I agree with Banes comments, it was 40K that restarted my interest in wargaming, but when 40K started to go off the rails so to speak I refound my love for things WW2. Too many war movies and playing with action men when I was a kid me thinks

Re: New game

I like DL have been on the receiving end of the "Wargames Police" even when playing 40K. This happened at one of the Stockton shows a few years ago when this bloke lectured the four of us who were playing about how the Imperial Guard would not sent the Preatorian Guard to war in bright red...

Re: New game

Mr KinG there are no obvious "power" lists it is all down to how historocally accurate, for want of a better description, you want to build your army. You could take a force of US Paratroopers supported by a Pershing tank but there were few Pershings used in Europe and I have seen no recor...

Re: New game

Mr KinG I thought when you play a standard force organisation list you can only take 1 tank  There are ways you can create more powerfull armies that aren't quite historically correct, like have all your German infantry squads tooled up with StG44 Assault Rifles when in reality they weren't tha...

Re: GW Tools

I use swan morton scapel with a variety of blades which so far I have had no issues with. In my opinion the set looks nice but it appears to be aimed at the section of the gaming community who will buy anything off GW so long as it has a collectors or limited edition tag attached. I hope the reviews...

Re: New game

I have spent in total about £130 on my BA American army and for that I have about 50 US infantry, 40 Paratroopers, 1 Sherman, 1 M3 1/2 track, 3 mortars, 1 50 cal team and an Airbourne 57mm A/T gun. Some people mock the standard Sherman but mine ( with its added hippy Tank Comander and blue watering ...

Re: Pictures of Imperial Guard Collection

Set yourself some goals with a reward for reaching each one. Eg this week I will get two of my fliers painted and if you stay focused a man of your caliber should get the whole lot done in no time

Re: State of 40k

I do not have a problem with the price of stuff it boils down to wether or not I get enjoyment out of the game. My personal reason is the way the rules have developed over the past few years is that to be competetive you now have to have the latest tank/vehicle/flyer to stand any chance of winning. ...

Re: State of 40k

It has fallen out of favour in our club, as AW said if you are playing a blind game it is open to all sorts of silliness. In the most part the former 40K players in our club have all moved over to Bolt Action as it is in our opinion a far better rule set and it is not so open to crazy army lists. We...

Re: Scenery - Building - March 2014 Competition (ENTRY CLOSED)

They come ready painted Timewizard, the 4Ground range is very good, not cheap but worth every penny. King you have too much disposable income to be able to afford that
