Earlier in the year a few friends and I decided to play some 40k 10th edition Combat Patrol to learn how the rules worked, having not played since 6th edition. I thought it would be a good idea to use my Death Korps of Krieg (Forge World figures, not the chubby plastic ones!) as they've been sat in foam trays for many years, I'd painted a single squad back in 2018 and just never got round to painting the rest.
The 40k app Combat Patrol list consisted of:
Command squad - Commissar and 5 Veterans
Infantry squad with flamer - 10 men
Heavy weapons squad - 3x heavy stubber, watch master
Death Riders - 5 men
Little did I realise until we checked out points costs across the various armies that this is way lower compared to any of the other forces that we used, I think it worked out as around 240pts compared to about 400pts on average for the other Combat Patrol lists. I'll blame that on being wiped out by turn 4 ...
The riders have lances but it was easier to paint them separately and they're not in the photo.
The photos are quite blurry taken on my phone, I'll have to take better ones with my DSLR at some point.
