Finally got the Hellhound finished, just need to cut out the Chimera hatch to convert and finish off making them interchangable.

Changed the turret weapon - since I thought the previous incarnation looked 'odd'.

Simply amazing work there morti.. keep it up. At the rate you are going you wont have a single need for an actual official model as all yours are much better.
The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money.

Agreed! Your have less flash, fewer mold marks and seem to fit better than a lot of GW models. (the necron monolith ranks right up there with the old land speeders in terms of bad fit and difficult to assemble).

Also, finally got around to rescaling the Thunderbolt (see above) and added a few improvemnets to the plasticard design, heres where I'm at with this new 100% sized one:

8O How much did the laser cutter set you back? :D

Seriously though, nice work mort. Very nice scratchbuilds.

What will the finished colors be?

Made some more progress on the full scaled Thunderbolt.

Finally found a use for an old broken beat up Star Wars X-Wing model I picked up for £0.50 from my sons school boot sale. I still have two more of the engines left for future projects :D

The rear exhauust is a 'fruit shoot' cap. My son keeps collecting a load for me from his school now :D

Also changed my method for make the 'fans' - I think this way is better than my previous attempt.

Felt a little more confident with Green stuff and used a small bit for the centre pillars in the fans.

The 'pipes' were cut down from a 'Starbucks' straw.

Made use of Google Sketchup and Unfold tool (Thanks Spack!) to acurately create the coolant pipes housing on the 'bonet'.

Just a quick update on the Valkyrie, managed to splash some paint on it - still a few bits to do yet - first time trying SENMM on the windows - think I have a little way to go on that yet!

mattjgilbert wrote:The cockpit reminds me of the classic "GW effect" on all their old boxed games titles :D

That was the 'kind' of effect I was going for (so it can't be as bad as I thinkit is), nevertheless from what I can see there are a few things 'wrong' with it:

1. the colours are too dark - think I should have started with a lighter blue and transitioned that to white for the 'sky' reflective portion and also started with a dark brown and transitioned to a light yellow for the 'earth' reflective portion?

2. I think the 'horizon' should more horizontal in each of the window frames rather than follow the slant of the cockpit?

Still theres always the Thunderbolt to try again on :D Speaking of which, here it is undercoated ready for a splash of paint - weapons aren't attached currently.

Started on yet another Scratchbuild / Kitbash project, heres the photos - I'm particularly please with the new look tracks, effective and much simpler to achieve than all my previous attempts.

Again - Plans were drawn up using SketchUp / Unfold
