Any questions can be sent to steven.davie@bt.com.

Timetable:

8:30 am-09:00 – Set up and registration
09:00-11:30 – Game 1
11:30-12:30 – Lunch/Painting Judging
12:30-15:00 – Game 2
15:00-17:30 – Game 3
17:30-18:00 – Finish, tidy up and prizes!

Games

Players will be drawn randomly for the first round, then based on the swiss system. If possible, you will not play members of the same club. Any one of the official GW army books can be used, including the Forge World Chaos dwarf army list.

All games will use the battle line.

Game 1 will use the Blood and Glory deployment rules.

Game 2 will be hidden deployment where one person draws a map of the table and draws their deployment on the map. The second player then deploys their entire army. Once complete, the first player deploys are per the map.

Game 3 will use diagonal deployment.

Composition scoring

Lists are to be submitted 3 weeks prior to the event. Each army is banded in the bands outlined below:

Armies Base Score
WoC 5
Demons 6
VC, Skaven, 6.5
Ogres, 7.5
Empire, High Elves, Dark Elves, Orcs and Goblins, Chaos Dwarfs, Lizards 8
Dwarfs, Bretonnians, 9
Beastmen 10
Wood Elves, Tomb Kings 11

Each list is then judged by a panel of 3 judges based on the criteria below and the average taken.

Base score modifiers:

Rating Base score adjuster Criteria
Soft +5 This list is an example of one of the fluffier, weaker lists the book can produce. Significant sacrifices have been made to theme and most of the weaker elements have been included with few or none of the harder options.

Kinda Soft +2.5 The list is still competitive but weaker than you would expect from a tournament army. Significant sacrifices have been made when building this list and it includes elements of the weaker elements of the army book.

Standard 0 A good solid tournament build, has weak and strong elements but is not over the top in any category (Magic, movement, shooting etc). What you would expect from an average tournament army of this list (not an average bent GT tournament list!)

Hard -2.5 This list is pretty tuned and includes a few of the nastier items/units/combo’s available to it. While it could be made stronger, it is a hard version of a tournament army of this type.

Pure Filth -5 Represents one of the hardest builds the army book can make.

Judges can rate armies at any value between 5 and -5 in increments of 0.5.

The difference of the score is then applied as a bonus for the weaker army to the final score for each tournament game. E.g. a comp 10 army loses 12-8 to a comp 6 army. The score is adjusted to 12-12 as the comp 10 army gets a 4 point score bonus.

Please note the scores are based on the hardness of the list that that particular book can make, NOT on the hardness of the list in the current environment compared to other armies. For example, an empire army taking max cannons and 2 Steam Tanks will most likely have a -5 modifier, giving them an overall comp score of 3

Scores will be given out to attendees two weeks prior to the event so people can adjust their lists if they want a higher/lower score.

Additional Comp

Folding Fortress is banned.

The lore of death can only generate a maximum of 3 PD per phase.

Scoring system:

The following scoring system will be used at this event:

Victory Point Difference Winner TP’s Loser TP’s
0-200 10 10
201-400 11 9
401-600 12 8
601-800 13 7
801-1000 14 6
1001-1200 15 5
1201-1400 16 4
1401-1600 17 3
1601-1800 18 2
1801-2000 19 1
2000+ 20 0

Winner: The winner will be the player with the most TP’s, with VP’s as a tie breaker.

Note unpainted armies are allowed but we encourage painted ones and there is a prize for best painted!
