Combat Patrol - Aeldari - The Fatebreakers

Postby Spack » Sun Jul 19, 2026 11:09 pm

As well as painting up some Death Korps of Krieg for our Combat Patrol games to get into the 10th edition rules, I thought it would be fun to paint up an Aeldari list as well as a surprise for my opponents. They haven't been used yet, but given that one of the other players thinks they are far too overpowered in the Gladius 4x PC game (they aren't, they just tend to win at economy due to the Autarch doubling resource income and I tend to build lots of them) I ended up pulling them out at our last gaming session to see how he'd react... :D

Most of the figures are old ones - Rogue Trader Warlock (to be used as a Farseer) and Scatter laser weapon platform (to represent a starcannon), 2nd edition plastic jetbikes - with 3rd edition Shining Spear riders to act as squadron leaders as the unit can split up into two - for the Windriders, and 3rd edition plastic guardians. I did however 3d print the Wraithlord rather than using one of the Rogue Trader Dreadnoughts that I own.

No idea how they'll do, but I've been meaning to paint them for a very long time and it felt good to finally settle on a paint scheme.

I have also started to work on vehicle support to expand the force towards 1000pts for future games. These were undercoated with black spray paint, then the upper hulls and turrets given a few light coats of Mephiston Red spray, and then the two at the front got some panel lining with Agrax Earthshade - the one on the right also had some extra put on as dirt and grime but I'm not sure if I like it.

The Fire Prism is the old 2nd edition model with metal weapon parts so it's quite top heavy. The two at the back on the right are Falcons with Forge World Wave Serpent conversion kits that I built before GW released the plastic Wave Serpent kit. The back left is a Falcon but with extra fins at the back of the hull by the engines, as the turret can be swapped to the Forge World Fire Storm and this kit came with those extra pieces. I also have a Forge World Night Spinner turret, and most of the turrets will be magnetised so they can be swapped around.
