Mold Making Tutorial

Postby timewizard » Fri Mar 07, 2014 3:54 pm

Hi all.

Here's a link to a tutorial I put together on how to make a silicon rubber mold.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5SluiU ... e=youtu.be

Comments and criticisms are most welcome, but please keep in mind that;

1-It's my first attempt at a video tutorial and,

2-The products I use are what's available in the US, your mileage may vary! ;)

Hope you enjoy it.

Enjoyed that video, well done. Anyone know where you can find something similar to the magic hydrocal in the UK?

It is called dental plaster on some other sites. I'll see if I can find some alternatives for you.

I found this site, don't know about shipping or how good they are, but they seem to have a good selection.

For casting miniatures I would probably lean more towards resin or plastic. Miniatures would have a number of small and thin parts, arms and legs for example, and the hydrocal would be very prone to chipping and breaking.
