O&Gs...cheating

Postby mattjgilbert » Mon Oct 20, 2008 4:16 pm

well not in the sense you thought when you read the subject ;)

Cheating at painting them. I have waaaay too much of a backlog and finally bit the bullet and enlisted the help of The Dragon's Tears resident speed painter Paul to start wading through my fantasy stuff some time ago while I concentrated on 40K and scenery. He's been painting my High Elves (I'm doing the characters) and he's also been busy at work on my Orcs and Goblins. Still some pictures not up yet and he's doing my Black Orcs at the moment (not for free I might add!) but here's what I have pictures of so far:
http://www.thedragonstears.com/gallery. ... %20goblins

I think that's just over half the army painted now! (with some more bits still to get 8O ). Paul's done about 98% of the stuff on those pictures - only the odd one or two things are mine and even those were re-inked with his magic varnish/ink "dip" he uses.

I never thought I'd want someone else to paint my stuff but there just became too much of it. If someone can wade through the masses and leave me to do the interesting models, I'll actually, maybe, possibly, one day... have everything painted!*

*please note this will never happen... but I might get close.

Looks great!

I feel your pain when it comes to masses of core troops. I still haven't painted my zombies... :(

I always thought it would be more dramtic, like the world exploding. Therefore by not completing anything, we are the saviours of our planet.

I know exactly what you mean Matt, but I have this sweet deal with a painter, I build him buildings and terrain and he paints my backlog.
