My poor wallet.

And Mantic are bringing out Orcs too!

The book is hardback. I like that idea.

Had put them to Advance order on our site, before they were on the GW site.

The book is hardback and is completely full colour. its also taller than the current army books.

We should have a copy in hopefully this time next week and a Arachnarok.

Well the book just arrived and my first impression is that I can't wait for the TK one :)

I haven't played O&G for over 10 years or enough 8th to comment on balance, so we're skipping that ;)

Someone is obviously paying attention: all the SCs have an unmounted Unit Type, and they all have Unit Types (including Skarsnik) that stop them getting picked out of units. None of them appear over-powered either, though of course, one book doesn't make a library ;)

Got mine too and fully agree it looks great!

As for balance, I think it is quite balanced. There are some very tasty choices which can dish out lots of damage but won't be a nightmare to get rid of.

One thing that made me raise my eyebrows was the magic items; there are only 8 and some of them are quite expensive.

I wouldn't be suprised to see a magic supplement in the future with lot of cards for new magic items and the current ones in the BRB.

However, doesn't the main rule book have quite a few 'common' magic items for you to choose from? Wouldn't this still give a good pool of choice even with just 8 in the new army book?

Also, whats the physical quality like? pages, print, spine etc?

True, there are 85 magic items in the BRB, plenty to chose from, its just I wouldn't be suprised to see more come out.

Anyway, the actual book itself is lovely, high quality, full colour pages, very well bound I don't see pages falling out unless to give it serious abuse.
