WoT login issue

WoT login issue

Postby berger15 » Wed Apr 24, 2013 8:20 am

Morning all,

I went to log in WoT this morning to change my password (300 free gold - gotta be done), only to get told my password or email is incorrect. So I try to reset the password, and get told the email address is not recognised. AsI have not played for a few days, and there was an attack on the server, it now seems I am locked out. So, next step - try customer services to raise a ticket - only I can't raise a ticket without being logged in! So I am now stuck in a catch 22 situation. I can't log in, so I need to contact customer services, but I can't contact customer services, without being logged in!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Problem might be today they are rolling out 8.5 which mite explain the login issue. I know they were taking the server down to get the patch ready. Tyr again later today once the patch is live and see what happens

sorry if it sounds like a silly suggestion, but are you sure that you were on the eu site and not the us one? I've made that mistake a few times and had the same error messages.

Hi Spack, I have the page bookmarked, but it is the US site. The bar at the top of the page tells me I should be on the EU site (need to change my bookmark!), so when I click on that I get the "website is currently unavailable due to maintenance works" screen. It's been two days now! I didn't think that would stop me logging in at all though. Just waiting for the 8.5 patch to finish installing now. Hopefully I'll be able to roll out and shoot stuff!

For an EU account you should be on http://worldoftanks.eu , I'm looking at the site right now and there is no maintenance message. If you try to log in on http://worldoftanks.com it will not recognise you as the accounts on that site are for the NA server, and are completely separate from the EU one.

The password change/reset can only be done on the website, not in the WoT client, as far as I'm aware, but I could be wrong.

EDIT: just downloaded the 8.5 as a standalone from the WoT website - annoyingly it's a .patch file, not a .exe as has been in the past. Figured out it needed to be moved to the Updates folder inside the WoT folder, then firing up the client caused it to install the patch (after downloading another small 5Mb patch first), just waiting for it to finishing so I can go shoot something ...

EDIT2: finished installing patch, then downloaded another 15Mb localisation package. Why couldn't they just bundle the patches up into a single exe installer? :|

Hi Spack - I got on to the EU site last night - finally! And now my password is changed and the patch is working, so it's all gravy! :-)

I had no issues with the patch at all. And no issues with any additional downloads - must have been lucky on that one.

Thanks very much for all the help.

Now, lets roll . . . .
